Canon recently added two fresh multifunction printers to its line of Pixma. The Pixma MP480 features a 1.8-inch LCD, print speeds of 20 ppm black, 16 ppm color and 45 seconds for a 4-inch by 6-inch photo. It provides an auto photo-fix mode as well for mechanically taking away red eye, and stabilizing brightness, contrast and hue/saturation. An auto-scan mode could further identify the kind of document being scanned and would automatically pick and save the document as a PDF or JPEG, based on the document type.
It works with an optional Bluetooth adapter (BU-30, $49.99) and would retail for $99. The $69.99 MP190 would provide print speeds of 19 ppm black, 15 ppm color and a 4- by 6-inch print just in 70 seconds. It features photo printing at 4,800 by 1,200 and adds in the company's Z-Lid scanner top for cooperative huge objects such as books.
