According to an article by Matt Richtel, Hewlett Packard has decided to reorganize its printing division so that it could accelerate the development of its corporate and consumer printing services.
In this reorganization process the company has decided to consolidate its five printing groups to three groups concentrating on small businesses, large enterprises and the graphics .The graphics majorly caters to printing of billboards, signs and professional photography.
The reorganization "is a significant milestone in the overall transformation of the business from being printer manufacturer to a printing company," said Doug Vaughan, a spokesman for Hewlett-Packard.
Mr.Bracelin, an industrial analyst of Pacific Crest Securities said that the printer business constitutes about 27% of the revenue for Hewlett Packard and it generates around 42% of the operating profits. He also said that the reorganization was not an obvious need because the profits have shown a steady growth since 2005.
